Invisalign

Want to straighten your teeth discreetly, effectively, and without the use of traditional metal braces?

Invisalign is a tooth straightening option that straightens your teeth almost invisibly. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign allows you to see your complete treatment plan, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position. Invisalign is a revelation in orthodontics. It serves the process of re-aligning your teeth using clear plastic removable aligners.

Invisalign from Best Smile Orthodontist is a great parallel to braces that is often chosen by adults who work in a professional environment. As the Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, no one will know you are wearing an orthodontic appliance unless you tell them.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses state of the art 3D technology to move your teeth gradually but effectively. These durable plastic aligners are made custom-made to fit snuggly over your moving teeth.

Each aligner will shift your teeth slightly, moving them horizontally and vertically. The aligners are even capable of rotating the teeth when needed. This technology has been developed to move your teeth with the right amount of force and in the right place. When you switch to your next set of aligners, usually every fortnight, your teeth will gradually move into their desired position. Invisalign can often straighten your teeth quicker than traditional metal braces.

All you have to do is to wear these clear aligners over your teeth to gradually move them into the ideal position and create your perfect smile. On average, an Invisalign treatment takes 18 to 30 custom made aligners, with regular check-ups approximately every 6-8 weeks.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign clear braces offer exceptional benefits to patients that include:

  • Removable – Once Dr Manku adheres your braces to your teeth, they must remain in place until he removes them. The advantage of Invisalign aligners is that they are removable. This means you can take them out to eat and drink or to play sports. Invisalign aligners need to be kept in for at least 20 hours a day to achieve optimal results.
  • Comfortable – No brackets and wires means no chance of irritation in the soft tissue of your mouth. The removable plastic aligners are moulded precisely to fit your teeth for extra comfort.
  • Fewer orthodontic appointments – You will have to visit Dr Manku at our clinic in Fairfield every six to eight weeks to collect your new set of plastic aligners. This is handy for out of town patients as they can go longer between appointments. Invisalign also minimises the risk of dental emergencies, compared to metal braces.
  • Appearance – With Invisalign, the plastic aligners fit so snuggly over your teeth they are very hard to spot. Your friends and family wont even know your wearing an orthodontic appliance.

Best Smile Orthodontist will discuss with you your needs and tailor a treatment program that’s as individual as you are. For more information on braces or Invisalign in Fairfield or Glenfield, or tobook a consultation, contact Best Smiles Orthodontist today.

FAQs

Invisalign is similar to braces in that in the first few days it can cause some slight aches and pains around the teeth and neck. This comes from the additional pressure exerted on your teeth. Any discomfort felt can be reduced by over the counter pain medication (if no allergy exists).

This discomfort is mild and will usually last around 1-2 days. If the discomfort persists for longer than a week, come back and visit us and we can sort out a treatment plan and address any issues.

Because each of our patients have unique orthodontic cases, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. It is nearly impossible to provide an accurate price for Invisalign braces without a full consultation first. Each patient has a completely different situation and mouth structure. Depending on the severity of the situation, you could potentially need 30+ different tray changes. This will increase the cost.

Some patients also require the use of attachments or buttons. This act as little bubbles on your teeth that Invisalign can use to grip on better. You may be required to get regular inspections and check-ups with your dentist, which could also factor into the price.

There’s no straight answer to this question. Braces are generally used in treatments where a larger amount of movement is necessary. Invisalign is used to move the patient’s teeth mildly and when they don’t have complex dental issues like severely crowded teeth.

For some people, it can be hard to resist the temptation to take out their aligner, so they opt for non-removable braces. There is no answer to which one is better than the other as they are both good options depending on the patient and their needs. To see if you’re a candidate for Invisalign, the best thing to do is to see us at our Fairfield or Glenfield clinic today.

No, not everyone is a good candidate for Invisalign. Some patient’s cases may be too severe for Invisalign to be effective. Invisalign isn’t suitable to correct more severe orthodontic issues like malocclusion and severe crowding. The best way to know if you are a candidate for this innovative treatment is to come and see Dr Manku at our Fairfield or Glenfield clinic.
